I bought this product after trying the free demo. The software is easy to learn, and fun to use. The learning curve is about five minutes. FS Repaint V2 is well worth the money.
I would recommend this product to anyone who owns FSX.
Technical support, (if you need it), is excellent!
The program does everything it promises, and more.
The results are truly amazing! You are limited only by your imagination.
My favorite feature is being able to add my own logos and pictures to my aircraft. If you are looking for a way to enhance your Flight Simulator experience, this is the best thing I've seen in a long , long time. Abacus puts out some great products, and this one ranks among the finest. Great Job, Abacus!
SwordfishSix, Alert Five, on Cat one, ready for launch! Happy Landings!

757 Captain Review

757 Captain
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was told to expect great things from the creator of this addon, Captain Sim, i was not disappointed when i installed this aircraft and took it for a test flight.
As mentioned in my title, this is my first payware addon for my flight simming. after finding out that this addon was being sold on amazon for half the price as what is listed on the Captain Sim website, i had to pull the trigger.
Before i purchased this, i was not satisfied with the freeware 757's being offered for Flight Simulator X, i think all of them were converted from FS2004 use, and none of them had a virtual cockpit for FSX. I am getting used to flying from the flight deck rather than flying from spot view from behind the aircraft and virtual cockpit is really useful.
This dvd comes with versions for both Flight Simulator 2004(fs9) and Flight Simulator X(FSX), comes packaged in a convenient plastic dvd case like most games being sold these days(i thought it would arrive in a cardboard ox like the older games did)
This dvd also comes with a 100 page manual that describes instruments.
This addon includes the 757-200 with 2 types of engines and winglet options as well as the -300 with 2 engine types and winglets as well as a freighter version.
one last thing to note is that by purchasing this product, you will have to use the support on the Just Flight site, currently, Captain Sim's requires a order number to log on to its site and you do not get this number when purchasing this product here on amazon or from Just Flight's website(there is an update patch available for this version on the just flight website)

C-130 Hercules X Expansion for MS Flight Simulator X Review

C-130 Hercules X Expansion for MS Flight Simulator X
Average Reviews:

This expansion for the MS2004 and MSX is the best C-130 experience for any experienced and inexperience simulator pilot. The program is very easy to install and comes complete with a 240 page pilot's notes manual for quick reference and for expansive information about the C-130's systems, technology, and checklists.
The book, [...] brings all the proceedures, take/off landing speeds, emergency proceedures, real pilots manuals (PDF) and much more.
The 2004 installation comes with 3 models with 53 liveries (paint jobs). The FSX installation comes with 11 variations of models with 28 paint jobs. This installation is especially cool with the AC-130, KC-130, Blue Angels with jet assist, coast guard and the well known Lynden L-100 with 3 variations.
The interior is as close to photo-realistic as your video card allows, with full virtual cabin. Every button, switch, knob, dial and guage works as in a real C-130 on the pilots, copilots, and nav's areas. Emergency proceedures are especially fun because if you dont do things in the right order, FS doesnt pick up the slack. I have already enjoyed 6+ hours of flying around. I don't plan on putting it down.
One word of advise, get pedals for coordinated turns, and make sure you visit avsim.com for advanced scenery for Little Rock, or Rammstein AB. FS2004 has an awesome add-on for KLRF with the addition of over 70 C-130s on the ramp that complete missions and fly patterns at all times of the day and are a blast with new voice packs. I highly reccommend expanding your Flight Simulator Experience with this pack and some new downloads.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration Expansion Review

Expansion pack won't install - says it requires FSX to be installed first. It is. I can be flying a plane in FSX, and the Expansion Pack Installer says FSX isn't installed. The support rep did say they have been getting a lot of calls from people who are having problems installing the expansion pack...
____________________
Support Update: It's now December, and after a month of working directly with Microsoft Games Support, the problem appears to be caused by running 64 bit Vista Ultimate on an Intel Core 2 Quad processor. The base game, Flight Simulator X, does not install properly, and the expansion pack can't find it. I tried a single cpu system, running XP, and everything installs and runs fine, including the expansion pack.
When you install FSX, if the install screen says "IDS_WELCOME" and "IDS_CONTINSTALL" you've got a problem. Another symptom of a bad install is if the Add/Remove Program screen in Control Panel says "PRODUCT_NAME" instead of "Flight Simulator X". Microsoft does not appear to have a fix yet for the installer failure on 64 bit Vista. XP works fine.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X Standard DVD Review

Microsoft Flight Simulator X Standard DVD
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me get something of my chest first. I have noticed a lot of bad feedback on reviewers who give higher ratings to products that are developed by Microsoft. So just to make it clear - I am not reviewing Microsoft, I'm reviewing the simulator.
So.. how fun is this game? Well it's your system that can actually answer this question. This game is amazing from my point of view. I have used everything, from FS98 to latest X-Plane.. and nothing is as good as this.
The Good:
- Stunning graphics. This is the most beautiful game I have ever played. From the water effects to shadows from the plane.. every effect and particle is breathtaking.
- Gameplay. It is an amazing gameplay, indeed. You can now fly in any seat you like, control literally any view of the airplane, most of the cockpit controls work and function the way they are supposed to. The weather system is amazing.
- Multiplayer. This one speaks for itself: FUN FUN FUN. It is very entertaining since you get to see people from all over the world. However, there are few cons.. like the Bad ATC guys who often mislead you and cause you to crash etc. It was foggy, so I depended on A/P. I was told to turn 074R, which I did. I heard the ILS Frequency so I put it on APP but ultimately, I was put into wrong direction and as much as APP fought to align me to the right direction (while keeping up with sped and altitude) i still landed in the ocean.. and of course crashed (since you're not able to actually land on water in this game). Of course, there are plenty of pefect ATC's out there but even with few that are not as good it's still VERY fun to play. Try it and see for yourself.
The Bad:
- ATC. ATC has not changed much from FS2004 other than a new "window" that it displays in. Still no ability to declare an emergency which is sort of a disappoint since you ARE able to set engines to fail or to run out of fuel (or both). So.. if your engines die out on you don't you think you deserve a right to report the situation to ATC? LOL
- Crash dynamics. If you're hoping to be able to crash your plane into a mountain and see a giant explosion and earthquakes then I have to disappoint you. While I almost never crash in Flight Sims I still wish there were better crashing dynamics to make it more realistic. For example, if I land heavily on my nose I'd love to see my plane's nose gear to fail and act like it would in physics.
Also, why can't we have the ability to land on water? Boeing 737 CAN do that (if propely executed). Here, no matter what amazing pilot you are.. as soon as you touch the water - you crash. Oh well. It's a very small thing but I wish it was improved a bit.
The Ugly:
- System requirements. I agree with what many reviewers said - this game depends more on CPU than it does on video card. This game will most likely NOT work at the Max settings if you have a brand-name PC (eMachines, HP, Dell).
When I first installed the game I had AMD Sempron 3300 (2.01GHz); 2GB DDR, Radeon X1650 Pro with 512MB. I ran the CanYouRunIT tool from System Requirements Lab.. the report said that I exceed RECOMMENDED requirements and should have a great experience with the game. I didn't really believe that since I have a 3rd class CPU but I played FS2004 and HL2 on the HIGHEST settings with absolutely NO lags so I thought it would work fine.
I was.. wrong. The game was not playable unless I set all of the aircraft, transport and texture settings to Minnimum Low. It lagged horribly on my native resolution of 1680x1050 32 which I had to put into 1440x900 16bit.
I purchased a new video card which is Geforce GTX 8800 with 740mb of RAM and can now play without any lags on my native resolution with settings set to Medium High but still not maxed out. Why? Because this game needs CPU. In this case, the CPU is the heart not the video card. If you buy it make sure to get the SP1 for this ASAP.. there are few performance updates which could be crucial if your video card or CPU isn't the best.
So to wrap up - I highly recommend this simulator to any Aerolover as myself. But make sure you have a GOOD CPU and card. If you have them you'll find yourself spending hours and hours flying above gorgeous landscapes, commmunicating with people all over the world, surviving a dead engine and/or faulty mechanics and generally having fun. This amazing software is both entertaining and educational.

F-14D Super Tomcat Review

F-14D Super Tomcat
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This great program makes Microsoft Flight Simulator X even more exciting. It gives the would-be pilot a chance to get in the seat of one of the greatest fighter aircraft the world has ever known and be a U.S. NAVY Tomcat-driver. The set-up is very easy and within minutes your behind the controls of the F-14 Tomcat. The graphics inside the cockpit are not as crisp as the aircraft originally provided with the Microsoft Flight Simulator X program, however, this is made up by the amazing outside graphics of the aircraft, the fly-by and tower views are simply amazing. Manual control to extend or retract the Tomcat's switchblade wings can be achieved easily by either fully extending or retracting the flaps. Now you can be behind the controls of the F-14 tomcat which was retired in 2006, this is as close as you'll ever get to flying the F-14. In short this is a great buy for any flight simulator enthusiast or F-14 Tomcat fan, see for yourself by checking out the photos.
