Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Mac) Review

Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Mac)

I've had it for a couple of days now, but there are a number of things about PE4 that make the transition from version 3 to 4 needlessly difficult, not to mention if you get PE4 first.
The main change involves the use of "Bridge" to handle what the Browser function did previously. Unfortunately, it seems there are some missing planks in their Bridge, as it's like having 2 separate programs attempt to talk to hand off files to each other. It is clunky, not intuitive at all, and often doesn't work in a consistent way, even when you figure it out.
According to Adobe Technical Help [when you can reach them through 3 or 4 layers of sales beforehand], there is no "Organizer" for Mac that comes with the Windows version, and they were surprised at a number of missing elements in this version as a result. It also seems that they've tried to piggyback an existing full Photoshop program--Bridge--onto the back of Elements, which despite appearances, is a completely different program.
Another example: the Adjust Shadows/Highlights--which allows you to correct for things in shadows, or too bright...buried in a 3rd level menu...has been changed from the PE3 default of "50% lighten" to a "25% lighten" with no ability to change that preset. So everytime you want to adjust your picture, you have to push the slider back to 0% and start out there to see what's best for your photo. Clearly Adobe recognized their 50% preset was too much for most, and changed it--but left off the ability of the user to preset what works best for us. What's the solution to this or any other inflexible/confusing issue? I was told several times that if I wanted things to work better, I should buy the full Photoshop.
That is simply unacceptable, especially for a company of Adobe's size and history of working primarily on the Mac platform. I would rather have fewer features that work more reliably and straightforward, especially involving putting our most used features on a toolbar instead of being forced to grab them out of deep menus everytime.
In Bridge, they are trying to combine a number of features found in iPhoto, such as rating photos by stars, making it more flexible. However, they don't allow you to customize your displays or views enough to be efficient, much less easy to deal with. The speed of Bridge, and especially interacting with 4, is slow. Also particularly irksome is the lack of sensitivity/responsiveness of the sliders within PE4, i.e. brush size and opacity.
So far, I'm not impressed with the Magic Selection Tool, one of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade. It doesn't seem to grab things as efficiently as advertised, although it is better than just the Magic Wand 3 had. I'm also less than impressed with another new feature: Adjust Skin Tone, something that could be a big time saver while offering the improvements most people care about.
The combined Help program is overly detailed in some regards, yet leaves out big chunks of the program for you to guess at solutions. They have virtually no tutorials or overviews of the program specifically for the Mac version.
I will update this review as I use it more, but I would caution against jumping at this upgrade until they work out more of the kinks in the interface, unless you are a virtual pro and don't mind spending a lot of time figuring things out that aren't quite Ready For Primetime yet. What I look to PE for is something that allows more extensive editing than iPhoto6 has, and yet doesn't have the complexity or cost of the graphics standard Photoshop.
Whether because of the Mac platform changing to Intel chips, or friction between the companies, it seems Adobe is heading in the wrong direction on the Mac platform, making us seem once again like the red-haired stepchild in the computer world, while still charging the same as the Windows versions.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 (Mac) Review

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 (Mac)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Adobe labels Photoshop Elements as a program for casual photographers. It's a lot more than that and always has been. iPhoto is fine for casual photography. Elements gives great photo editing capabilities that can carry the load for some heavy duty editing. It doesn't have all the features of the full CS3 Photoshop but Photoshop has always offered multiple ways of getting results. Elements offers enough capabilitiy there's little that I haven't found a way to achieve.
Of course, if you have multiple SLR bodies and a bag full of lenses you may not like the idea of having the non-pro program. I use Photoshop in my everyday web design work but have Elements on my home computer and am happy with the photo editing I can do with it.
I've been working with Photoshop Elements 6 for the last 5 days. There's a lot to like. Adobe has added some excellent features from the full version of Photoshop like Quick Selection and Refine Edge. The new Color Curves feature is welcome too. Element's PhotoMerge options are incredible making it drop dead simple to take the best parts of several group shots and seamlessly combine them to build one great photo. The addition of Smart Sharpen along with more control of Unsharp Mask gives excellent control of sharpening now.
The three editing modes are well thought out. Guided mode is new and I initially thought I wouldn't bother with it. I have years of Photoshop experience after all. Wrong. It can be useful for common editing situations. And it's a great introduction to editing for the newcomer to Elements. Quick mode is still helpful and of course, there's the regular editing mode that come close to the regular Photoshop way of doing things.
Elements is also faster, finally Intel processor native. It opens a lot faster and runs faster. And Adobe has included Bridge with Elements 6, the same version that comes with the full Photoshop package. If you're moving up from iPhoto to Photoshop Elements it's great to be able to not have to deal with iPhoto's strange filing system and maintain control over where pictures are stored. Bridge itself is probably worth the $89 that Elements costs. It's a great program in itself.
There are some warts though. The Photoshop Elements interface does not look like most Mac programs and takes over the screen. The installer seemed to take forever to do its job and added a whole lot of clip art junk that I don't want or need, over 2 gigabytes for the installation. It's not even immediately obvious when opening the installation disk how to install the program. (open the language folder).
I do suppose that if you want to use Elements to create your own greeting cards or make cute scrapbook pages you might like the clip art. If, like me, you just want a photo editor, it would be nice to be able to choose what to install and not have to fill the the hard drive with images that will never get used.
That said, though, Elements is a solid upgrade and will handle editing for most photographers and a great price.

Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9.0 Review

Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9.0
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For those who aren't professional photo editors, let's be honest with each other: how many of us have bought the professional programs that professionals recommend, and then find that the learning curve is so difficult that we don't use them? I have several other photo editing programs: Photoshop Elements 2.0, Paint Shop Pro. I kept buying the next one because the "pros" recommended them. I found that to learn EACH task it took from 1/2 to 1 hour. There is NO simplicity to anything with those programs. They can do awesome things, I just don't have the time to figure out how to do EACH and EVERY ONE. Using MS Digital Image Pro, it is set up so simple, you can just make a few clicks and almost every task can be accomplished. I've imported many photos into the program, modified them easily and quickly, and then placed them into a video which I burned to DVD's for projects at work. I received quite a number of complements from other "non-professionals" on the quality of the changes. I was also able to easily make modifications for pictures of my family which came out very nice.
If you're looking for a professional, extremely extensive program, perhaps you might want to look at the other ones. But if you're like me and want a fun program that also will deal with 90% of common tasks, this will save you a lot of frustration.

Adobe Encore DVD 1.5 Review

Adobe Encore DVD 1.5
Average Reviews:

How could ever Adobe release such a messy software? The same Adobe that created Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects we've known for their professionalism and reliability! I use Encore ver 1.5.1 and it looks like it can handle only simple projects with menu and bunch of chapters. Working with anything extra e.g. subtitles becomes frustrating and annoying, making projects hardly possible to finish. Expect tons of "Out of memory", "Abnormal condition" and other errors and eventually, corrupted projects and wasted time. Encore does not even seem like written by the same team that makes other Adobe products. Adobe, do something about it! Your reputation is at stake. Well, just to make it easier on them a little bit, competition is even worse in some cases, but still, that does not give Adobe any right to lower their standars. Just take a look on the web and you will find complaints from all over the world. Bottom line: from messed-up workflow through endless errors, Encore sucks!

Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album 4 Review

Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album 4

Edit: I was pleased with it while I used it. But since posting the review below, I've stopped using it in favor of the (now free) program Picasa, available through Google.
``````````````````````````````````
I tried a bunch of other programs and free trials, and this one packed the most stable and useful features into the cleanest, most intuitive, and most convenient package.
I especially like the design of the cropping tool, the ease of assigning and customizing the categories while organizing, and the clean simplicity of the interface. I'm perfectly capable of using complicated programs, and figuring out how to use programs that aren't very user-friendly. But when you're trying to organize a ton of digital photos, why make it more work than you have to?
Paint Shop Photo Album 4 does what it does very well, and does all of the things I would ask a photo album program to do.
It makes it easy to print, share, and organize my photos. For quick photo touchups, resizing, rotating, adding captions, and the other kinds of edits that an average home user would want to make to their photos, the editor included in this program is quite suitable, and does a very nice job.
It also has a nicer format for creating web pages to share photos online than most of the other similar programs I tried.
I've been using the 30 day free trial, (which is a full version rather than a chopped down sample) and my time is almost up, so I am definitely going to by this program.
PhotoImpact 6.0 Review
PhotoImpact 6.0
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)
I can't say enough about this program. If you read any of the other reviews I've submitted, you'll see I've tried a bunch pf editing software over the past several months. You'll also notice that I do photography professionally and that I use Adobe Photoshop 5.5 (now 6.0) for much of my work. At this point, I'm wondering why. Don't get me wrong, Adobe Photoshop is the Granddaddy of them all and a beautiful program, but there's a big learning curve and the need for some deep pockets. PhotoImpact doesn't require either of those. I got into the Ulead products with the 4.2 version that came with my H/P PhotoSmart scanner. Then I went to PhotoImpact 5.0 and loved it. Now 6.0 is what I use the most even over Photoshop. The program is much easier to use, it's loaded with palletes and effects, and the album feature is a Godsend. And it will take Photoshop plug-ins if I want to use them. As far as learning Photoshop or PhotoImpact, think about it....go to your local bookstore and see how many volumes are on the shelves to teach you how to use Photoshop. It's mind boggling! Then look for a book on PhotoImpact. You probably won't find one. I wish I knew why. Is it ignorance towards the program, or do the people that write these tutorial encyclopedias agree that Ulead's manual that comes with the program does an adequate job of giving you the basics and explaining all the fuctions? The manual is good, but there is a book out there that was written for PhotoImpact 4.2, but will work for 5.0 and 6.0. The only real difference between them all is the relocation of some of the functions. Basically, the programs all work the same. There are some additions to 6.0 that you'll have to learn on your own because they aren't in this 4.2 book. By the way, the book is called "Fun with PhotoImpact 4.2" and was written by Stephanie Baker-Thomas. I got a copy from Amazon.com. There is an excellent book for PhotoImpact 6.0 called "PhotoImpact Solutions" and can be ordered directly from Muskel & Lipman publishing.
Although I do photography professionally, I still like to forget that now and then and have fun with my pictures as well, and for that, PhotoImpact 6.0 comes with Uleads "Drop Spot" which puts an icon on your desktop which will then connect you to imira.com which is Uleads site for you to put you pictures on the web for all to see. Nice extra! That too is a breeze to use. You can email directly from the program, do a slide show in the album mode, scan directly into the album or the editing program, and do just about anything you want once you're in there.
I'm not going to go on and on with this. I think I've made my point. This is a great program at a great price that's easy to use and seems to always work. I've had no problems with errors, illegal operations, crashes or anything else like I've experienced with some editing programs. In short, if you want to have some fun with your pictures as well as do some serious editing and playing around with web design, buy this program. You won't be sorry.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0 Review
Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0
I am an avid amateur photographer, with the emphasis on amateur. I am on my second digital camera (Canon G1, first was Kodak DC480), and I've been printing my own digital photos for almost 2 years.
During that time I've tried many packages, from Photoshop LE, to QImage, to Printshop, to PhotoDeluxe, and I've never been satisified. What I wanted was a solution that gave me reasonable control over the process while still making it simple. I was beginning to feel that I wanted too much until Adobe released Elements.
In my opinion Elements is the Holy Grail for the average amateur digital photographer who wants to print AND edit photos. Now if you have no interest in EDITing your photos, then spend your money elsewhere (Qimage is a good start). Or if you are a professional or a web graphics jockey then go with the latest version of Photoshop. Otherwise, buy this.
Elements makes the process as simple as you want it to be. With many one-click functions, you can trim to size, adjust levels (color spectrum), Sharpen, and print. The hardest part is Sharpen, but after a few trial experiments you'll find settings that work for you most of the time (or buy a 3rd party add=in, like the Nik Sharpen Pro solution that I purchased).
Save yourself some aggrevation. Adobe got it right with the 1.0 version of Elements. Buy it.
Apple Aperture 2.0 Upgrade Review
Apple Aperture 2.0 Upgrade
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)
I have been using Aperture since version 1.1, and love it. The few issues/disappointments I had were resolved with version 1.5.x. Version 2.0 takes the performance and capabilities of Aperture to the next level. While I have only been using Aperture 2 for a week or so, I have been thoroughly impressed. (I will update this review as my experience grows.)
In terms of cameras, I use both a Nikon D2X and a Nikon D300. As such, the RAW files that Aperture has to deal with are large 12-megapixel images. And Aperture handles said images with ease. (Bear in mind that I am running Aperture on a first-generation MacBook Pro 17" laptop, running at 2.16 GHz.)
Among other improvements, Aperture 2 provides superior high-ISO noise reduction. For example, images taken with my Nikon D2X at ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 show massive improvements in quality. Not only that, but Aperture's noise reduction finally matches -- or even exceeds -- that of Nikon's own Capture NX software. Comparing high-ISO images side-by-side, it is clear that Capture NX utilizes a high dose of "chroma blur." Aperture 2.0 does not, and the difference is quite visible.
As for other changes, Aperture 2 provides some nice UI refinements, increasing the amount of screen real estate for viewing your photos. More generally, Aperture 2's UI is even more "transparent" than that of version 1.x, i.e., it does not impede your workflow.
Besides the UI improvements, Aperture 2 also adds additional image enhancement options. Among others, Apple added "de-vignette" and "vignette" image adjustments. These allow you to correct for, or add/increase, vignetting from lens optics.
And finally, a few words about performance. I found Aperture 1.5.x to be quite responsive, though it would occasionally become sluggish during certain operations. I have not been able to find any such sluggishness in Aperture 2, a welcome improvement. Plus, the software is even faster and more responsive that Aperture 1.5.x.
The bottom line? Aperture 2 provides welcome improvements over 1.5.x, including superior image quality. If you like Aperture 1.5.x, you will love Aperture 2. And if you shied away from 1.5.x, I highly recommend giving Aperture 2 a try. Download the free trial from the Apple website, and see the improvements for yourself. Try it, you just might like it!
Quickly locate images in the innovative All Projects view with project skimming.The new Quick Preview mode provides rapid-fire photo browsing, letting you quickly compare, rate, and make image selections. Aperture also offers enhanced performance when making processor-intensive adjustments, such as Noise Reduction and Highlight and Shadows. Leveraging the next-generation RAW image processing in Mac OS X Leopard, Aperture 2 delivers images of astounding quality, offering superb color fidelity, increased shadow detail, reduced noise, and advanced highlight recovery. Aperture provides RAW support for the leading digital cameras and camera backs. It also supports DNGs made from the RAW files of most digital cameras. With a .Mac account, you can take advantage of new support for .Mac Web Gallery to create beautiful online portfolios even allowing clients, colleagues, or friends to download JPEG or RAW originals complete with embedded metadata. Yet another buggy and less-than-average program by Roxio.
This version fixes a few of the many flaws in the last version but nowhere near enough to justify using this product over MS Digital Image, Adobe Photoshop Elements, JASC PaintShop, etc.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 Review
Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)
I read many reviews for software. I always read the worst reviews first and take what people say with a grain of salt. In reading reviews for Photoshop Elements, I see many people giving this program lackluster reviews. Not based on the software's capability, but based on its lack of additional features over previous installments or the program's speed. I hope to address what others have said and help you make a decision on whether to buy this program based on its attributes and your needs.
Let me make it clear by saying that Elements is an excellent, if not the best photo editor in its price range. Although the price and features in this program may be more than the average person with a digital camera may need, I feel this program is an excellent choice for all types of users. Be advised, this program has a steeper learning curve than many other photo editors. In addition to that, expect to spend $30-$40 for a book to learn how to use many editing features in Elements if you are not already familiar with it.
Adobe has included it's excellent Photo Organizer in Elements 3 & 4. What's important to realize is that the organizer is a nice way to keep track of and view all your photos, but it's not what you would want to use for quickly viewing an occasional photo here and there. (When I double click an image file I want it open within a second or two.) It takes approximately 10-15 seconds for the elements organizer to load on my laptop if it's not resident in the computers memory. (Longer or shorter based on computer's hardware of course, but probably not too much shorter.) This is why many people complain about the speed of the program and the reason I don't recommend associating elements with many of your image file types. Use a viewer to view and elements to organize and edit! I don't have an issue with loading time because I only use it to organize and edit. When I open elements I am usually in there for awhile.
I have noticed some version 2 reviewers disappointed about versions 3 and 4 taking longer to load. Another major reason of some poor reviews from Elements 2 users, is the facelift given to version 3 to look more like it's big brother Photoshop. Change is usually not welcome when people are already familiar with the program's interface.
As far as whether to UPGRADE from elements 3, I recommend saving your money unless there is a certain feature in version 4 you must have. I really can't believe Adobe added so little over version 3. The magic extractor and selection brush do work very well and are convenient on tougher selections but they are not the universal answer. The additional features in 4 are nice but not worth the $60-$80 price of the program. I own Photoshop Elements 3 and 4. The worst part is, I bought version 3 about two months before version 4 came out. Am I upset about that? Yes. However, I still went ahead and purchased the new Elements/Premier bundle when it released from Amazon since I did not have Premier Elements. I read some reviews stating that version 4 was slower than version 3. I have both installed on this laptop and would say that 4 is a little faster. I can also say I have no problems with the program crashing or conflicting with anything else on my computers.
Some cons of Elements 4 are the removal of the file browser and many 3rd party tools and add-ons that worked in version 3, do not necessarily work in 4.
If you do not own this program and are looking for an excellent organizer/editor and are up to the challenge of learning many of the editing features this program offers then take the plunge. The creativity options are endless. You will be amazed at what this program can do if you know how to use it.
Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Review
I don't get the bad reviews, unless these users are(no offense):
1. working for the competition
2. have hardware shortcomings
3. are not using the program correctly.
I used it right out of the box and was able to capture from my sony hdr-hc3 hd cam, even though it is not listed as compatible. I created a 5 minute flick in no time, had very good real time viewing of the unrendered product, and rendered it in about 20-30 minutes. I watched it on an 8' wide hd projection and it was perfect. All of the video correction I did was really an improvement to my cloudy day footage. This has been the easiest install, first-time use, hardware compatibility experience I have ever had.
Check the adobe Premiere user forumn and all of your questions will be answered. I posted today and got a response and an answer in about 5 minutes. I also have After Effects, Photoshop, and pagemaker and have been happy with all for years dating back to 1990.
I upgraded from Premiere 6.5, which I haven't used for years. The improvements are plentiful and very satisfying.
If you can swing it, spring for the productivity bundle. The programs really work well together.
Tools, palettes, and menus are familiar and consistent with those in other Adobe video applications, and keyboard shortcuts remain fully customizable. The audio capabilities in Premiere Pro 2.0 -- unequaled by any other video editor -- now allow you to apply multiple effects to audio clips or tracks. Adobe Premiere Pro even includes a set of VST-format plug-ins that will get you started on audio enhancement right out of the box. Whether your delivery target is the Web, DVD, tape, film, or digital cinema, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 helps you leverage your editing investment across more playback platforms. Plus, workflow innovations, such as automated review and approval, facilitate and streamline everyday tasks to keep your projects on the fast track without keeping you from your core mission. Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 also makes it easy to send both media and metadata to other video, film, and audio applications, making it more efficient to take a single project in multiple directions.And finally, getting fast, to-the-point feedback from clients is a crucial part of any successful production. Adobe Clip Notes streamlines the process with an elegant solution based on two easy, accessible technologies: email and the Adobe PDF file format. A sequence can be exported as a PDF file with embedded or streamed video in either Windows Media or QuickTime. The file is then sent to the reviewer, who plays it back with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader software. Whenever the reviewer pauses the video, the current timecode is automatically entered into the comment box. Remarks can be entered at the exact point at which the video is paused. When the file containing these remarks is sent back and imported into the sequence, the comments appear as clip markers at the appropriate timecode locations in the timeline. Adobe Clip Notes facilitates collaboration, expedites the review and approval process, and takes the pain out of keeping everyone in the loop.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 & Adobe Premiere Elements 4 Review
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Adobe Premiere Elements 4
The Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 bundle is one of the best values for the home photo/video editor. I use the full version of Photoshop and a fairly pricey video editing (Sony Vegas) package at our business, but needed a powerful yet inexpensive (a relative term, I know) package to use at home. Here are my observations on each package:
Photoshop Elements 6:
At first glance I was disappointed and thought I had made a big mistake as the default interface is fairly simplistic (which is a GOOD thing for most users). Being used to the some of the more advance features (such as "Curves") and the ability to load in templates, the one click tools (while great for the casual user) were a little underwhelming. Not to fear though, the more powerful tools are still available by getting into a different editing mode, which I would have found faster if I had read the somewhat skimpy manual. All in all, it is nice to be able to "one click fix" all of my family photos, and still have the ability to get more powerful tools for the work I bring home with me. This is a fantastic value for the money!
Premiere Elements 4:
Since most of my editing is done on higher dollar packages at work, I was just looking for a home software package to quickly assemble clips, make photo slide shows, and to convert clips for upload to YouTube. This package surprised me with it's drag and drop ease of use. It is fantastic for the home user and does exactly what it says it is going to do. One note about the YouTube integration, it is nothing short of fantastic! I had a clip that was just too big to upload and my expensive work software just was too hard to get the file size and quality they require. Using Premiere Elements, I was able to drop in the large clip, indicate it was for YouTube, and the software did the rest...Including logging in and uploading it to my account right from inside the program. No muss, no fuss, just as advertised!
All in all, I think this is one of the best home user packages available. Simple enough for the basic user with access to the more powerful tools if needed.
Photo Essentials 3 Review
The 19 word summary that says it all: Go to the ononesoftware site and download the free 30 day fully functional demo and try it for yourself.
The details:
If you are considering Mask Pro 4(and you really should, see my review of that product for details) to use with Photoshop Elements (PSE), then get this instead. You get essentially the same masking capabilities, more stuff, and for less than half the cost!
This software consists of five add-on components to PSE. There is nothing they do that you can't do with only PSE but it will take you a heck of a lot longer. Also, perhaps if you were to spend enough time and develop sufficient skill you could produce better results. However without this considerable investment of your time chances are you will be impressed with what you get from the "Essentials" pack after only a few minutes of familiarization.
Regarding the "familiarization", the training resources provided by ononesoftware for this product (and everything they produce) is as impressive as their software. Whenever you first use a new feature you get the opportunity to view a short (< 60 seconds or so) intro that gives the essentials of its use. Beyond that, there is contextual help available and over 100 on-line videos dealing with everything from general usage to dealing with specific "problem" situations. That aside, out of the box and armed only with default settings you should be able to get great results very quickly.
Finally, there is a free 30-day fully functional demo available at the manufacture's site. Don't believe me, download it and give it a try.
For full disclosure, while mostly automatic there is usually some intervention required. However it is considerably less than what would be needed to accomplish the same thing without this package. Also, I have no personal interest in ononesoftware other than believing they produce a quality product that adds considerable at a very reasonable price.
BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've gotten from other reviewers and continue to return the favor as best as I can. If you thought this review was helpful please let me know by clicking on "Yes" button where it asks. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.
This product finally gets it right. From start to finish, it really works.
Connect a camera or card reader, and it automatically finds it and imports your photos. Then do a quick review using your full-screen so you can really see the image, not just thumbnails. Cull out the lame photos really fast, then tag the ones you want to keep. Even hit Ctrl-1 through 5 to put 1-5 stars on an image.
Then once you have your best shots, use the cool "smart fix" tool to do some amazing stuff to fix the exposure and colors in just one click....much smarter than the other products I've tried (and I've tried a lot over the last 3 months, including microsoft's and magix and ulead and nero....etc.)
Then use the one-click redeye remover to click near an eye and have the redeye automagically removed. It really works! Cool!
Use the Healing Brush to remove blemishes and paint out annoying details (like the cars in the background, or a blemish on someone's forehead) without having to know anything special or hold down a control-shift-alt key combination.
Wonderful organization tools, plus the world's best image editing, all packaged in a UI that starts simple and builds as you explore it.
Adobe really got this one right. Don't bother looking at the other packages (lord knows I spent enough time for us all. :)
