(More customer reviews)After a series of frustrations with Norton Antivirus I resolved to search for a better alternative. I noticed that Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 was well regarded by the user community, so I decided to make the switch to 7.0 when I purchased my new computer.
Kaspersky has far exceeded my expectations. I experienced no problems whatever with installation--no other antivirus programs had been installed since this was a new computer. Moreover, I found the program to be readily adaptable to my needs as a user. Most important, Kaspersky allowed me to set the level of intrusion that I wanted rather than to simply tolerate too high a level, which is clearly undesirable. I particularly liked the feature that allows you to set the update at a time that is suitable for you. (I chose daily at 7:30 AM rather than hourly.) I also liked the backup disk feature, which is easy to use and essential for system recovery. All of these capabilities are documented in the well-written, 67 page User's Guide. The crucial point to see is that Kaspersky gives you more choice and more control than has usually been the case.
In short, I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking an improved, nicely behaved, and easily customized antivirus program. Kaspersky 7.0 is an outright winner among the alternatives that I am aware of.
