Open Office provides both free editions and helpful CD's which can easily be copied and distributed WHICH DO EVERYTHING MICROSOFT DOES AND MORE. It can easily convert any sort of document into another format, for instance, providing several advantages.
I have used it for years and encountered no problems. Freeware or low cost software, of the highest grade, who could ask for anything more?
