(More customer reviews)I've been using Turbo Tax for 10+ years and once I fell for the old bait-and-switch when I thought the 'Deluxe' version was worth the extra bucks. Wrong. The Basic version does everything most taxpayers need, and does it quite well, even if you have a mortgage and itemize deductions. Don't think you need to upgrade if you have a few complexities to your return or you're not using 1040EZ. That's especially true if you live in a state without state income tax (thank you Texas). Can't speak for rental properties or other complicated examples, but paying extra so someone can tell me what my donated pair of shoes is worth just isn't worth it.
